Covered in White Paint…

I wanted to have fun today with Prints while out birthday shopping for my sister. It all started when I decided to wear a old tee I was given while playing basketball at UCDAVIS during my college days. I have tweeked it a bit (a little snip here and there, I love what I can come up with when I get a pair of scissors in my hands), had it since my freshman year of college, and it’s definitely one of my favorite T-shirts. Simple Graphics look great with a busy pattern, just my opinion. I have this “granny grundge” cardigan that I got while doing one of my favorite things — Thirfting. A cool grey, crazy pattern, and pearl-silver combo buttons has made this piece a idiosycratic staple in my wardrobe. I pair this duo with a simple pair of Skinny Jeans (I love Dark Denim Skinnies). A subtle addition, and I tucked in my graphic T into the Jeans to give it a more polished look. And then to make this outfit scream “ASHLEIGH”, I pull out my leopard print flats. POW! I wear a Peace sign leather bracelet on my wrist and a delicate gold necklace with my initial “A” on it. Two pieces of jewelry that I do not leave the house without! The combination of prints, colors, and bold letters all brought together: made for a Perfect outfit for a day of shoppng. I ended up finding some great goodies for my sister, I hope she loves them….cross your fingers for me!

“PLEATS”…

My Mom gave me this wooden Frog pin from her travels to Spain years ago and it symbolizes Good Luck.  I thought what a great piece to add a little spice to any outfit. I always love to wear cool things that have a story behind it, and the fact that it was my MOM’s makes it so special to me. What better way to wear it than on a fun “Thirft Store” find of mine: A Summer Green Vintage sweater dress. When I saw this amazing green pop off the rack, it was love at first sight! I decided to go against the grain and wear this dress in a more unorthdox way. I decided that it would be perfect with a knee length Black Silk Pleated skirt. Since the dress is a bodice feel, matching with a flowy pleat just seemed genius to me. CLASSIC. A little out of the box to pair a sweater dress with a skirt, but it WORKS! I have learned from my mother that a outfit doesn’t sing without the most important accessory - Shoes. In order to compliment this Vintage look, I wore a  Brown Open Toe JEFFREY CAMPBELL bootie boot. Vintage with a Edge is what I call it. I was always told that, your imagination is your only limitation to your creativity, so I make it a point, to never hold back in my styling efforts and always think “Outside the Box”…

Cement Sidewalks + Beautiful Sunshine.

What a beautiful day it was in San Diego. Mind you, I went through my closet and pulled out a dozen outfits before I could actually walk out of the house to start my day: It was just one of those days. I wanted my outfit to be playful but in the same breath simple. I started thinking about pieces in my wardrobe that have been collecting dust OR still have the tags on them AND was determined to put a few of these puzzle pieces together to make something great. So with the creative juices flowing, and a exciting day ahead of me with the two most beautiful women in my life ( MOM & SISTER ), I was ready to get this party started. My RECENT OBSESSION: Chancla/Pali Sandals!! Most comfortable Sandals ever, I recommend anyone and everyone to invest in a pair that cost me a whole five dollars! Working my way up from Bottom to Top to build this outfit, next on my list was my “bottoms”. I have a pair of classic 7FAM Dark Denim Skinnies that I never wear anymore (I cuffed them to give it a little personality), so today was their day to shine. I matched this with a silk patterned blouse, and topped it off with a pea soup scarf to give it a little “pop”. Wind blowing in my hair, shades on, and just enjoying this warm weather. An amazing day out with the girls…It was Perfect.

All Black + A Pop. Completely obsessed with Black…I can admit it! Today just like the majority of my days I envision my outfit around this amazing, classic, standard color: BLACK. And regardless of the season, like I have mentioned before, its a color that can be worn year around and look timeless. So I recently got this Vintage Red/White Stripe Cardigan with these obnoxious gold buttons that looks so “REGAL” at the Thrift Store, and I absolutely adore it! I wanted my sweater to be the statement piece, and speak for itself, LOUD & CLEAR. So what better way to do this, than do what I love —> WEAR ALL BLACK. I pair vintage high-waisted pants that were also a Thrift Store find, that I purchased while I was out in Sacramento to this look.  But they desperately needed to be revamped, so I cut them and made them into shorts in 2.3 seconds. I paired that with a black silk tank, a basic in my closet, you can’t have too many of those! And to top it off, my outfit wouldn’t be complete without my FAVORITE pair of shoes at the moment, a Black Chunky Bootie Boot! So this was my Mother’s Day outfit, and the funny part about it is my Mom wore a Nautical themed Michael Kors dress. So we both wore stripes on her special day, which technically is everyday, I love you MOM. In the end, my vision with this outfit came alive! I enjoy walking into these places, I am guaranteed to find something that I am completely in love with! If I’m not IN LOVE…I don’t BUY! So today I was inspired buy Stripes, Denim, Green (my fav color) and Cool Buttons. Every single one of these pieces describe ME in their own way. Personal expression is everything to me, and being an original in my styling effort is of upmost importance! Second Hand Stores are my voice to be heard as an individual! Yay Thirft Stores!! COW TOWN. UCDAVIS. PICNIC DAY

Every year at my now Alma Mater UCDAVIS there is “PICNIC DAY” a day where this small town becomes filled with people from all over to enjoy the beautiful weather, activity on campus, and just have a great time! So I made sure to choose my outfit wisely. I wanted to make sure that I was comfortable of course in this 90 degree weather, but also that I kept it O.R.I.G.I.N.A.L ..so that is exactly what I did. While in Berkeley a while back on Telegraph I went to one of FAV stores “MARS” where I found a pair of high-waisted acid wash jeans that were just calling my name. I wore them a handful of times, and so the morning of this fabulous event I CUT them and BAM! I paired it with silk crop, edgy shoulder bag, and I can’t go anywhere without my combat boots! I kept it simple, but at the same time made a statement! Go AGGIES!! Proud UCDAVIS ALUMNI.

The CITY.My Love. San Francisco. Pier 39 Everytime I cross that bridge and enter into this amazing city, I have a permanent smile on my face. But most importantly my CREATIVITY and FREESPIRT is at a all time high. So after people watching, local street enertainment, playing on the cable cars, and just enjoying a beautiful view of the bay, I come across this LONG BRICK WALL. I had to capture this moment, I was completely inspired by the simplicity of a brick wall in such a complicated city! And my Look screams “GRUNGE CHIC”…. A Chunky Geometric Sweater I got while hanging in the HIP Haight Ashbury Neighborhood is definitely my statement piece! And my necklace that was custom made just for ME!! Keys and Cameras are my two obssessions! Moments like these I always look back on and just smile! Spring time in the CITY! Beautiful Berkeley…

I love this CITY! Culture.People.Education.Fashion.Ambition.Free Spirit! Just decided to take a moment and “smell the roses”. Even though it is Spring time, I find myself wearing black all the time. Oh well. I’m and original, and just being ME! Like this DENIM GAP Jacket my mom got me when I was like 14 years old, I cut off the sleeves and WAH-LA!! It is all about Denim. Patterns. Glitter.

I found my dress at a thrift store of course and completely fell in love with it! It is perfect for the Spring, and if it was up to me I would wear this style everyday just in different prints!
